What is Ayurveda?
Ayur - life,  Veda - knowledge,
Sanskrit term for the
 'knowledge or science of life'
Ayurveda is a complete medical system that dates back over 5,000 years, beginning in the Indian sub-continent.

More than a medical system alone, it is a way of life that is in harmony with nature, promoting and  maintaining health through the natural healing processes of the mind and body.

Your Dosha

Ayurveda is based on the principle that all life within the Universe, is composed of the five elements – ether, air, fire, water and earth.  These five elements create the three Doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha which reflect an individual’s natural constitution (mind-body nature)

The elements for each Dosha are:
  • Vata -  ether (space) and air
  • Pitta -  fire and water
  • Kapha - earth and water

Recognising how your Doshas express through you physically, mentally  and emotionally is the key to learning how to support your own health.

Good health is present when the Dosha's are in harmony. Harmony is created through right thinking, diet, lifestyle, herbs, cleansing and rejuvenation, based on your unique constitution.

"Just as all plants require different conditions to thrive, the same  applies to our own individual needs.

Ayurveda provides a deep understanding of what it means to thrive according to
our own nature."
